RIAEJThe Latin American Network of Judiciary Schools

Introduction

The Ibero-American Judicial Schools Network was created by agreement of the 2nd Ibero-American Encounter of Councils of the Judiciary, which took place in Barcelona in March 2001, and by agreement of the 6th Ibero-American Summit of Presidents of Supreme Courts and Tribunals of Justice, which took place in the Canary Islands in May 2001. The RIAEJ was initially constituted as a linkup community for cooperation, agreement and reciprocal support between the judicial schools and public judicial training centres of Ibero-America to contribute to the exchange of information on judicial training systems, methodologies and programmes. It enables the coordination of activities that are of interest for its members and plans joint training activities. All this is based on a flexible organisational structure that respects the independence of each of its members and makes use of the technology that is available for enabling the fulfilment of its objectives.
